Topic: Diagnosis & management of pulmonary embolism in an acute care setting
The purpose of this project was to do a Power Point with at least 50 slides to present to a group of Nurse practitioners
Below you can find a summary of the activities I have done during this research project.
This paper will be verify for plagiarism and AI use.
|
Summary of the Activity 1 |
Reflection on the Activity |
|
Develop presentation draft Provide better academic articles Include in presentation comparison of prior standards for diagnosing and treating PEs. Populations for Special Considerations for treating PEs |
During this activity, we began developing a draft of the presentation. Previous and new diagnoses for the detection of pulmonary embolism were included. Ultimately, this activity allowed us to better understand the management of pulmonary embolism in an intensive care setting. |
|
Summary of the Activity 2 |
Reflection on the Activity |
|
· Elaborate an Outline about PE in acute care setting. · Search academic articles · Include high impact journals · Elaborate Literature review · Begin structuring power point · Comparison of prior standards for diagnosing and treating PEs · Populations for Special Considerations for treating PEs
|
During this activity, we were able to better understand how to appropriately select and search for articles related to PE in an acute setting. Additionally, we were able to review the structure to create an academic-level presentation that addresses all the appropriate points for the audience. Finally, this initial activity allowed us to understand the appropriate approach to successfully complete the presentation. |
Summary of activity 3
· Improve the design of Power Point presentation
· Most of the slides have too much information, put the most important information on a table or diagram, and add extra information to the note part of each slide.
· Increase the number of slices to 60. (due to many slices has a lot of information can be converted into extra slices for the presentation)
· Add a decision tree to slice 25
· Add a diagram to slice 23, 24
· Add a slice with differences between PE and DVT
· Add a slice about thrombolytics
· Separate the most important references (main articles from the presentation topic) and put it in a word document
· Add references and citations to each slide
This last part was mainly to correct the errors in the Power Point presentation. Improve each slide that had some deficiency as is stated above.

Research Project Written Report: Instructions
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is for you to provide an overview of your research experience and knowledge gained through the research project course.
Instructions: For additional clarity, please review the rubric for the project as well. The final paper should follow the following outline:
1. Introduction: Do not use the term “introduction” see APA 7th edition formatting. In this section provide a brief overview of topic that was the focus of your practicum hours. This section should also include the purpose of the paper and a preview of what sections will be included. ( This section should be 0.5 to 1 page).
2. Background and Significance: Provide background information on your topic and review its significance to those impacted. Because some of you have selected research topics outside of nursing, please discuss how the research will benefit those impacted as well as the community and/or society as a whole as a result of the research being conducted. You will need to use the scholarly peer-reviewed literature to assess the background and significance of your topic. ( This section should be 2-3 pages in length).
3. Critique Your Research Project: In this section, critique your research project in the following three areas:
4. Identification of the enablers, barriers, and strategies for the development and implementation of the research and/or scholarly project, indicating possible solutions for the barriers.
5. Discussion of the outcomes expected from this project (e.g. implications for future research, scholarship, and evidence-based practice).
6. Evaluation of the overall value and contributions this research or scholarly project will make to consumers, nursing and other health professionals, administrators, and policy makers. ( This section should be 4-5 pages in length).
7. Role of Advanced Practice Nurses: Evaluate the role of advance practice nurses in relation to the research project. Consider personal objectives achieved related to advancement of research knowledge and competencies. If you worked on a non-nursing related project, discuss the value of the research process to advanced practice nursing. ( This section should be 1-2 pages).
8. Reflection: This section should include your reflections regarding your research experience this semester. Include your views on the challenges that you faced and the learning that you experienced. You may use FIRST PERSON in this section ONLY. ( This section should be 1-2 pages).
9. Conclusion: This should include a summary of your entire paper. ( This section should be 0.5 – 1 page).
10. Format: Use the American Psychological Association ([APA], 2020) to format your paper. An APA 7th edition paper template has been provided for you in the weekly module and the course resources. You can refer to this for reviewing the format of the title page and headers within an APA formatted paper.
11. Grammar and Mechanics: Your paper should be proofread and spell checked. There should be few or no grammatical or mechanical errors.
12. Length: The paper should be a MINIMUM of ten (10) double spaced pages. Failure to meet this minimum length requirement will result in the loss of points.
