Research Paper for Social Studies

The main goal of social studies is to teach students to become reflective decision makers and citizen actors in order to solve personal and public problems. Understanding the research process is essential achieving this goal. Any model of social studies inquiry consists of at least the following components:

1. Selecting a topic/formulating a research problem: construction of a hypothesis

2.Development of research design: process you will follow to conduct your work

3. Date collection 

4. Writing narrative of your research

5. Citation/giving credit yo your sources 

You have to develop a research project that focus on the K-5 curriculum standards. Develop a major project base research paper that follows the above research process. It must be interdisciplinary, you should utilize other areas of social science such as economic, geography, political science etc. The reseach paper should include an explanation of how you will use this information in an instructional setting. The paper has to be 5 pages in length no more than two pages are notes and the other is bibliography.
