Research Paper Instructions

You will write a research paper on a topic in the field of child counseling. (Guidelines for topics are provided in the Research Paper Proposal Instructions document.) Do not use a paper or topic you have used in previous classes; this will not be accepted. The paper must include a title page, abstract, and reference page as well as 8–10 pages of content (the body of the paper). Emphasize quality before quantity. Follow current APA guidelines throughout the paper. Your paper must be typed, be double-spaced, and use 12-point Times New Roman font.

Develop a paper that is full of up-to-date research (published within the last 10 years). This includes using citations liberally throughout the paper. You must use 5 scholarly references in addition to the class textbooks, lectures, and the Bible. Refrain from writing personal opinion, and do not use first-person writing. Your paper will be graded on the basis of clarity, flow, use of resources, interpretations, and conclusions; see the Research Paper Grading Rubric for more specific parameters.
