Research: Network Infrastructure Devices

 

Network infrastructure devices help facilitate the movement of data along in a computer network (Fennelly, 2017). These components of the network transport communications needed for data, applications, services, and multi-media. The following devices are considered to be network infrastructure devices:

• Routers
• Firewalls
• Switches
• Servers
• Hubs
• Intrusion Detection Systems

Assignment: Briefly, discuss how the mentioned network infrastructure devices are used to transport communications in a network. Be sure the mention security features and/or protocols that can be used in conjunction with the devices.
