You  are required to read the assigned paper included in this week's  resources. After reading this paper and looking at the issues and  structure in which this paper and the totality of the papers in this  report is dealing with, please discuss the following in great detail and  in line with the expectation of DBA Research Discussion.

1.  Which PESTEL factors are the most salient for the paper you have read?  Do you see a future for small businesses in lieu of what you have read?   Why or why not?

2. Looking  at Porter’s five forces of competition given the COVID-19 crisis for  the small businesses, how would you assess the survivability of small  businesses?

3. Draw a strategic conclusion for the small businesses given what you have read. What are your conclusions?

PROFESSOR'S GUIDANCE FOR THIS WEEK'S RD:

In response to your inquiry about what to do with the RD#4 three questions, let me share the followings:
Let  us keep in mind that these three questions are as general as strategic  investigations get. There are ten pages of analysis in each paper  looking into a particular aspect of this global phenomenon. You should  read your article carefully and try to expand your analysis of the  material from PESTEL perspectives. Discuss the porter's five forces'  ramifications based on what you have gained from the particular article  assigned to your team.

You  are supposed to use the strategic tools available to you to discuss the  article assigned to your team. You have to focus on the particular  article and answer the three questions from your perspective that are  enhanced by recent events that have come to fruition after publication.  Keep in mind that we are at a time of fast-paced changes. As you can  see, these papers are about Resilience from different perspectives to  devise strategies that would enable organizations to absorb the shock of  the current crisis in ways that support survival and lay the groundwork  for future prosperity. That is why we need to consider the next normal,  looking to the past for inspiration in navigating current challenges.  Your chosen titles should allow you to look into the issues in such a  fashion that could better understand disruptive events such as the  Covid-19 pandemic.
