In need of a research paper on the topic: HIV/AIDS and its Effect on the Periodontium

Students will obtain relevant information through research of one of selected topics of importance below, as it relates to the etiology and/or treatment of periodontal disease. From his/her findings, the student shall compile a research paper.

Instructions: The student shall research scientific dental journals, articles, and books from the college library or internet and select at least two articles and at least three other reference sources, including books. The typed written paper, submitted to the instructor, will be completed according to APA specifications and will include:

1. Title Page that contains the student’s name, course (DH 136), and date. 2. Abstract page (a summary of the paper) 3. Any scientific involvement- bacterial pathogens that are involved, how the condition affects the appearance of tissue, the severity of the disease process etc. 4. Information about whether the condition is bi-directional.

5. Information concerning the involvement of specific types of inflammatory mediators or effector molecules must be included in paper. 6. Necessary treatment or additional treatment that is recommended. 7. Proper citations in APA format of material or statements in the paper that is not your own must be included. 8. Works Sited: article reviewed, author, name of journals, articles, websites, books and dates of publication. Include all sources on a separate reference page in the proper format. Must be submitted in APA style. 9. No more than 25% of the research paper should be from direct quotes and/or works citation in the paper. 10. Double spaced, Font: Time New Roman, Size 12, a minimum of 4 Pages, which does not include the title, abstract, or reference pages.
