Research

 Include comprehensive review of the literature in the field and include documents to make sure you are fully knowledgeable about the alternatives under consideration. The result should be a comprehensive review of the literature and research findings relevant to each alternative under consideration.

I.   Research Section:

       Alternative 1- A Criteria to follow when sending person to solitary confinement (EVERYONE IS REVEIVING THE SAME TIME IN SOLITARY FOR THE SAME OFFENSE) 

        Alternative 2-  Making Solitary Confinement more Humane 

You are now in a position to conduct a comprehensive review of the literature in the field and agency documents to make certain that you are knowledgeable about the alternatives under consideration.

In this section of The Capstone, you are to present your research findings with respect to each Alternative Course of Action that is under consideration.  

Your research should address both quantitative (data analysis) and qualitative factors, and should not be limited to only traditional and formal channels of research.  You are encouraged to pursue all avenues of inquiry that would shed some light on resolving the problem under consideration.  This approach may include site visits to other agencies and interviews with individuals possessing special knowledge of the problem under consideration.
