Getting Started. For your first assignment you need to decide on a research question. You may use one of those I have provided above. You may also decide to develop your own research question. Should you decide to so please be sure that the question in OPEN ENDED starting with what, why or how. You must also explain why and what aspects of this question interests you. For this assignment it is OK to use personal experience. Personal experience often drives research interests. However, it is important to understand that personal interest should not cloud actual research judgment. In subsequent assignments in this series you MUST NOT use personal pronouns or refer to personal experience. My expectation is that this assignment comprises one double spaced page in 12 pitch font: two or three paragraphs (500 words or more).
