· We are going to start the Reporting Information paper this week! For this type of writing, you’re really not taking a side or supporting an argument, you’re just simply reporting information. However, it’s very useful when it comes to argumentative, or really any type of writing, because you do often find yourselves reporting information. With this essay, you still need to have a good thesis statement in your introductory paragraph (typically toward the end of the paragraph), followed with nice solid body paragraphs and a conclusion.

· Below I have videos that will be very helpful for this assignment. Please remember that you can always turn the subtitles on in these videos.

· The Writing Process and Essay Structure   ( Please watch by the 16th)

·

· Thesis Statements    ( Please watch by the 16th)

·

· Reporting Information   ( Please watch by the 16th)

· This video is a Prezi based on your reading:  Reporting Information - Everyone's an Author with Readings 2nd Edition . Please read through this (you don't have to read every single word...just enough to get the gist of it) and watch the video to help you understand the process of reporting information better. Once you’re done, please respond to: Everyone's an Author - Reporting Information ( Please complete by the 16th)

· Once you have read through the materials and watched the lecture videos, then share on the  Reporting Information Paper Topic - Discussion Board  ( Please complete by the 16th) discussion board what you'll be writing about it. Please let me know if you need help brainstorming for a topic!

· I'm not requiring it, but you may use outside sources for this paper; if you know your topic well enough, you may not have to. So, I'm going to assign an  MLA Interactive Activity  ( Please complete by the 16th ) so you can become more familiar with formatting and citing.. This was created by a librarian at Dallas College, and it's really good! When you are done with the activity (should take about 45 minutes to an hour), please upload your certificate here: MLA Certificate

· Your  Reporting Information paper  will be  due on the 30th

· I'll be creating a short video sometime next week over this Reporting Information paper prompt.
