Challenges Faced
1. Limited Resources

1. Geographical Isolation
1. The island’s isolation presents challenges with communication and transportation, especially in emergencies or for accessing external resources.
2. Internet Challenges
The internet is a crucial part of modern communication and business, but several challenges affect its reliability and accessibility. These issues often lead to difficulties in connecting to government systems and accessing emails.
Limited or Poor Connectivity
1. In many rural and developing areas, internet infrastructure is weak or nonexistent.
1. Slow internet speeds and frequent disconnections disrupt online activities.
ACHIEVEMENTS
1. The District Administration office, in collaboration with PPID, has continued efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of the island. These efforts include the reconstruction of walls and sidewalks, as well as ensuring that all contract workers on the island remain actively engaged. The renovation works also encompass the cricket field/parade walls and surrounding grounds.
1. The Salt Cay community held numerous stakeholder meetings and training sessions with various government departments and the TCI Red Cross. The island also hosted an all-boys camp, "Build the Boss," organized by Gender Affairs, which was a resounding success.
1. In August, the Salt Cay ferry schedule was adjusted from operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Reason home owners and family wants to come home to visit on weekends but was difficult based on the ferry schedule time and I must say person are so elated to come and enjoy their weekend and be back to work on time.
1. A community meeting was held with the police, in collaboration with other departments and agencies where all parties remain dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Salt Cay residents.
1. ** Community Center Salt Shed Updates: **
- Ice machine, large deep freeze, stove, microwave, and toilets added.
- Items for use during events at the shed.
2. ** Renovations: **
- South Shelter building and storage container renovated.
3. ** Mary Robinson Primary School Improvements: **
- New windows, door locks changed, AC units installed.
- Interior and exterior painting completed.
4. ** Hurricane Preparation: **
- Drains cleaned to ensure proper water flow before hurricane season.
5. ** Outdoor Facilities: **
- Outdoor bathroom constructed behind the Salt Shed.
6. ** Solar Lighting: **
- Solar lights installed around the Fish House and Salt Shed.
7. ** Area Cleanups: **
- Cleaned Middle Beach, Basketball Court, Benevolent Hall Yard, Cricket Field, South Shelter Yard, North Shelter Yard, Pat's Shop area, and Dean’s Dock.
8. ** Street Cleaning: **
- Streets cleaned to enhance the island's appearance.
9. ** Public Works Contributions: **
- Garbage bin placed at Fish House by the dock.
- Repairing broken walls and storage container ceiling.
- New door installed at District Commissioner's office.
- Home Help provided to island residents

Accomplishments commencing April 2024 to Present day by District Administration Salt Cay
· The Community Center Salt Shed has been furnished with an ice making machine, a bigger deep freeze donated by my island home committee and I also purchase a stove, microwave. And toilets. These items will be used during events held at the shed.
· Renovations was done at the south shelter building and the storage container.
· Works were carried out at the Mary Robinson primary to the windows, the door locks were changed, ACs were installed and the painting in the inside as well as the outside
· All drains have been clean before the hurricane season which made the access water to flow very easily from the land.
· Building of an outside bathroom behind the Salt Shed
· Solar lights were purchase and installed by the fish house area and around the salt shed
Cleaning of the following areas were carried out;
· Middle Beach & the basket-ball court
· Benevolent Hall Yard
· The Cricket Field
· South Shelter Yard
· North Shelter Yard
· Area by Pat’s Shop
· The Dean’s dock area
· A number of streets were also cleaned which made the Island look very beautiful.
Accomplishments along with other Departments
Public Works Department
· The placing of a garbage bin at the fish house by the dock
· Repairing of broken-down walls around the island
· The repairing of the ceiling in the storage container near the South Shelter.
· The installing of a new door at the District Commissioner’s office and painting
· Providing Home Help for a few persons on the Island
Culture Department
1. The documentary video of the late Honorable JAGS McCartney and a domino tournament was held.
Social Development & Aged Health care and Rehabilitation and Primary Health Care
· Hosted a Tea Time in the Tropics event that was observed as international day of the older persons

Evacuation meeting with the community
Fortis TCI Company & Public Works Department
Electrical lights put up in the community by Fortis in recommended dark areas given by the District Administration Salt Cay
