Consider what technological advancement (besides computers) have been MOST impactful (or influential) in the following components of Criminal Justice.  These may not have a singular correct answer, but there are certainly answers that cannot easily be defended.

A contribution except for computers that has been and still is impactful in Criminal Justice is body cameras. The body cameras keep the officers honest and protect the officers from false claims. As well as tasers which are a less lethal contribution to the law enforcement agencies because it keeps the officers from using deadly force in a dangerous situation. I read up on Predictive Policing (PREPOL) which also appears to be impactful for law enforcers. Because of PREPOL many law enforcement departments have gained those tools created to help in the process of performing crimes investigation, understand numbers and facts, prepare numbers, and estimate the success of the response. According to a publication from Homeland Security (August 2013) PREPOL assists in identifying and mapping spatial and temporal probabilities of future crime incidents, give an estimate of dangers related to crimes, assist in determining patterns, and presents logical finding to officers and decision making. Basically, PREPOL allows the law enforcement agencies to work effectively with limited budgets and resources.
