Religion and Religious Conflicts

 Why did our founding fathers spend so much time working on the powers and restrictions of government and really none on the citizens in the drafting of the Constitution?  Do you ever snicker when law makers state that the Constitution provides something that is only mentioned in the Deceleration of Independences? Does it cause you concern that they are making your laws?
