Illuminate the Islamic image of the straight path to Allah by doing a close reading of the passages from the Quran on pages 205, 208, and 212 of Religions of the West Today. 

Explain how these selections make clear what it means to be a Muslim, in terms of how an individual relates themselves to Allah and also in terms of how they are related to their community (ummah). 

Be specific in citing ideas from these passages as you build your own interpretation of what being on the straight path means for one in a state of Islam.
