Relative addressing and absolute addressing

When copying a formula from one cell to another, the default copy style in Excel is called "relative addressing" - cell references are adjusted relative to their new location.  Distinguish between "relative addressing" and "absolute addressing" when copying a formula.  Give an example where absolute addressing is required.
