Reflection and Application Entry 1

Purpose (why do it?): 

What's the point of this assignment? This initial Reflection and Assessment (R&A) Assignment provides you an opportunity to explore your own thoughts about some of the themes we will be exploring throughout the semester before diving into these topics sociologically. Later in the semester, you'll look over what you wrote here and think about how your initial thoughts might be enhanced by sociological insights.

Task (What to do?):

1. Review the questions below. 
2. You should write your responses in a word processing program and then upload your responses in a .doc, .docx, or .pdf format
3. Make sure to clearly number your replies (e.g. 1, 2, 3... 9.a, 9.b, 9.c, etc.).
4. Write between 1000 and 2000 words total.  

Importantly, as these are your ideas, you will not be looking up sources (no wikipedia, google, etc.) or relying on others (no asking your parents or friends for input). If I determine that you've relied on any outside source, you will receive a zero for this assignment under the plagiarism and cheating policy.
