Recognizing Type 1 Error, Type II Error, and Power
RCT is considered gold standard for assessing the efficacy and effectiveness of a therapeutic or preventive measure in medicine and public health. However, from a social perspective, two of the most important issues to consider are the ethics of RCT and generalizability of the results of a trial.
What do you think are the social issues affecting the generalizability of results of a trial? How would you solve them? How might you overcome some of the ethical dilemmas that can arise from RCT?
