Some of Epictetus' sayings sound like good advice but can be difficult to put into practice. In section VIII, he wrote, "Seek not that the things which happen should happen as you wish; but wish the things which happen to be as they are, and you will have a tranquil flow of life." 

--In writing, reflect on some of the problems that would likely arise if you were to try to follow this advice in your life. What would be some of the benefits of this advice if you could follow it?
