· Reflecting on the weekly overview, what are the specific elements from your problem statement that are carried over to your purpose statement?

Assignment 1

Reading feedback, reflecting on the feedback, and then properly incorporating the feedback will help you progress through the dissertation journey and improve your writing, critical thinking, and APA formatting skills.

Change Matrix

A change matrix describes the changes you make to a document based on your instructor’s feedback.

Review the Purpose Statement Worksheet from this week’s Discussion 1 and the Week 3 feedback from your instructor on the background and your problem statement.

Using the Change Matrix located in Appendix A of the Research Outline Template, record the instructor’s feedback in the comment boxes in the first column (you can copy/paste). In the second column, state in your own words the feedback provided. In the third column, explain what you have done to address the feedback. Make all necessary revisions to the background of your problem and to your problem statement.

Continue using the Research Outline Template provided in Week 3:

· Revise the background and your problem statement based on your instructor’s feedback from Week 3.

· Add your proposed purpose statement to the Purpose Statement section of the Research Outline Template and, in Appendix B of the template, provide an explanation of how your purpose statement aligns with the problem statement. Use scholarly tone and provide citations and references to substantiate your discussion.

· Format in-text citations and references according to APA guidelines.

Use the APA Tutorials located in Doctoral Writing Resources and format your paper according to APA guidelines.
