1) In the video lecture this week, a "Superordinate Goal" (SOG) was defined as a combined effort undertaken by two or more groups who were previously opposed to another - in order to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.  Superordinate Goals have proven to be an effective way of overcoming prejudice because it brings people together - who normally would not engage one another.

For this question, please provide an example of a SOG that you've either personally experienced - or observed take place in society - past or present.
