QUESTION 1:

We have discovered throughout our first four weeks that we can use our critical thinking for many things.  Last week, we used it to help construct our arguments. This week we will focus on how we can use our critical thinking to help solve problems.

Our author provides a series of questions designed to help us work through problem solving.  Those questions are:

1. What is the problem?

2. What are the alternatives?

3. What are the advantages and/or disadvantages of each alternative?

4. What is the solution?

5. How well is the solution working? (Paul & Elder, 2012)

Class, as you review these questions and the chapter, which step would you say is the most important and why?
