Assignment Quality Improvement – Assessing Quality Improvement Studies
Directions
Review the Squire 2.0 guidelines and using one of the articles provided respond to all questions.
Answer the following questions using a narrative style and provide examples from the article selected. This assignment is expected to be about 4 pages. It should be double spaced using Times Roman 12 font. The 7th edition of the APA Manual should be used.
Abstract- Does it contain all the key elements such as background etc.? (10 points)
Introduction:
Is the problem clearly described with enough information to support the significance?
Does the literature review contain sufficient relevant studies?
Are the aims of the Project clear? (20 points)
Methods:
Are the methods clear and can they be replicated?
Are validity and reliability of any tools described?
Does the analysis use appropriate qualitative and /or quantitative methods to draw inferences from the data?
Are ethical considerations addressed? For example, IRB and/or conflict of interest.

Results:
Is there a clear description of measurements over time?
Is there a detailed explanation of processes and outcomes?
Is any interaction that occurred that could have influenced the results described?
Is there discussion of any associations between outcomes, interventions or other factors
Were there any unexpected findings benefits or problems?
Is missing data reported? (20 points)
Discussion:
Are all key findings discussed and related to the aims and rationale of the Project?
Were there any limitations?
How can this QI Project contribute to the body of nursing knowledge?
Future recommendations? (10 points)
APA and Writing style including grammar will be 20 points of the grade. This included the reference list which will follow APA style.
Provide a reference list of articles used as well as Squire articles distributed in class. This includes any of the Squire articles, the QI article selected and any other you wish to add. The minimum number of references is three.
