The legalization of recreational and medical marijuana usage, gun control, illegal immigration, and deportation of illegal immigrants with criminal records are topics of current government policies. Choose one of these policies that interests you the most, and then develop a position paper. Be sure your paper addresses the following:

• Explain why your chosen policies/acts are controversial.
• Discuss the consequences if the policy was discontinued or continuously implemented.
• Recommend a plan to reduce the controversy and political influence to allow continuous implementation.
• Assess the impact of continuing or abolishing the policy on the crime rate and safety of the community.

Use examples and evidence to support your position.
