Funding Exploration Paper Assignment Instructions

Overview

The purpose of this assignment is to assist you in understanding behavioral healthcare funding. You will research the various types of funding that are available in the field of behavioral healthcare. Sources of those types of funding will also be explored. You will also have the opportunity to understand how to secure funding. Because funding is such an important consideration for the operation of a behavioral healthcare organization, this will provide you with valuable tools to ensure successful operation of a behavioral healthcare organization.

Instructions

You will write a 3 to 4-page paper in current APA format that focuses on identifying sources of funding for behavioral healthcare organizations. The paper should address the following topics related to funding:

1. What types of funding exist for behavioral healthcare organizations?

2. Which sources of funding are appropriate for the type of organization about which the student is writing in the Behavioral Healthcare Plan assignment?

3. How would one go about securing funding for their organization?

The paper should also include a cover page and reference page. No abstract is required. The paper must include an introduction and a conclusion in addition to the body as outlined above. At least three scholarly or trade related articles should be integrated into the paper.

Behavioral Healthcare Plan Assignment Overview

Throughout this course, students will be developing a behavioral healthcare business plan. This plan will enable students to consider important elements for developing an effective behavioral healthcare practice. The goal of this plan is to help students create a strategy for the management of a behavioral healthcare organization. The cumulative plan will consist of three separate assignment parts which will be created throughout the course and finally put together as one fluid plan document at the end of the course.

For the Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Part 1 Assignment, which will be due in Module 2: Week 2, students will consider the type of organization for which they will develop the plan. Part One will include the Company Description and the Strategic Plan and Focus.

For the Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Part 2 Assignment, which will be due in Module 4: Week 4, students will consider how the organization will be set up and managed. Part Two will include a Market Analysis, Operating Plan, and Management Plan.

For the Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Part 3 Assignment, which will be due in Module 6: Week 6, students will consider how the organization will be marketed and engage in financial planning. Part Three of the plan will include sections on Sales and Marketing and Financials.

The Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Final Paper Assignment will be due in Module 7: Week 7. The final submission will involve combining all previous parts of the plan together into one fluid document and creating a Table of Contents and Executive Summary.

Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Part 2 Assignment Instructions

Overview

Recall that throughout this course, you will be developing a behavioral healthcare business plan. This plan will enable you to consider important elements for developing an effective behavioral healthcare practice. The cumulative plan will consist of three assignment parts which will be put together as one fluid plan document at the end of the course. In this assignment, you will be completing Part 2 of the plan. The goal of this plan is to continue to guide your creation of an overall strategy for the leadership and management of a behavioral healthcare organization.

Instructions

In this assignment, Part 2 of the plan will be developed. Part 2 of the plan consists of three main sections: Market Analysis, Operating Plan, and Management Plan.

In the Market Analysis section, you will perform a SWOT Analysis to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that pertain to their behavioral healthcare organization. You will engage in an Industry Analysis where you examine the current state of the behavioral healthcare industry as it relates to your organization. You will identify key competitors for your organization (Competitor Analysis). Market Trends will be identified. You will engage in a Customer Analysis wherein you will identify the Target Market of their organization.

In the Operating Plan section, you will identify the physical location of their organization, any building requirements that will be necessary (e.g., office space), what products and services will be offered, and a recordkeeping plan.

In the Management Plan section, you will identify the type of business structure that will be used, what staff will be required for the organization, what management roles and responsibilities will be necessary, how staff and management will be compensated, and training and development needs that will exist in the beginning and in an ongoing capacity. In this section, you will want to consider whether your organization will be Christian or secular in nature, expanding on how you envision worldview to play a role in your overall business structure.

The responses to these sections should be prepared in paragraph format. Organize the material logically using headings and subheadings. You will have several paragraphs for each of these sections.

A sample Behavioral Healthcare Plan Template has been included for convenience. This outline constitutes the entire, final behavioral healthcare plan. For Part 2, you are only responsible to create the Market Analysis, Operating Plan, and Management Plan sections. Please be sure to review the outline and the more detailed instructions for the individual plan parts in the weeks in which they are assigned as this will help you with your overall planning and direction for this Part Two assignment.

This assignment should be prepared in current APA format with a cover page using APA style for headings and subheadings. Please integrate at least three scholarly or trade sources and one Scriptural citation into this Part 2 assignment. Your sources should be different than the ones you utilized in Part One. You can choose where best to integrate these sources. All sources must be cited and referenced in current APA format.

Your submission should have a minimum word count of about 750 words.
