Discussion Questions II

Your response to each question should be 1- 1 ½ pages per question. Assignment should be 6-9 pages total plus a title and reference page
 

Describe the ways in which Berkeley’s writings are consistent with the epistemological philosophy of idealism. 

 Describe an everyday behavior in terms of at least two laws of association as formulated by David Hume.  

Compare Cartesian dualism (Descartes’s interactionism) with psychophysical parallelism (Leibniz).   

Explain the way in which Descartes’s view of human functioning is consistent with a dominant scientific model of the time, the machine analogy.  

Explain the connections between evolutionary theory and contemporary evolutionary psychology.   

Can a psychological perspective (system) that rejects determinism (e.g., humanistic psychology) reconcile itself with evolutionary theory? If so, how?
