Behavioral Healthcare Plan Assignment Overview

Throughout this course, students will be developing a behavioral healthcare business plan. This plan will enable students to consider important elements for developing an effective behavioral healthcare practice. The goal of this plan is to help students create a strategy for the management of a behavioral healthcare organization. The cumulative plan will consist of three separate assignment parts which will be created throughout the course and finally put together as one fluid plan document at the end of the course.

For the Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Part 1 Assignment, which will be due in Module 2: Week 2, students will consider the type of organization for which they will develop the plan. Part One will include the Company Description and the Strategic Plan and Focus.

For the Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Part 2 Assignment, which will be due in Module 4: Week 4, students will consider how the organization will be set up and managed. Part Two will include a Market Analysis, Operating Plan, and Management Plan.

For the Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Part 3 Assignment, which will be due in Module 6: Week 6, students will consider how the organization will be marketed and engage in financial planning. Part Three of the plan will include sections on Sales and Marketing and Financials.

The Behavioral Healthcare Plan: Final Paper Assignment will be due in Module 7: Week 7. The final submission will involve combining all previous parts of the plan together into one fluid document and creating a Table of Contents and Executive Summary.

A sample Behavioral Healthcare Plan Template has been included for convenience so that students know what key elements will be expected to be completed. Please be sure to review the outline and the more detailed instructions for the individual plan parts in the weeks in which they are assigned.

Online Scavenger Hunt Assignment Instructions

Overview

For this assignment, you will engage in an online scavenger hunt to inspect the websites for behavioral healthcare organizations. This scavenger hunt will enable you to examine how other organizations present themselves as a company and how well you feel they are reaching their intended audience with the information they provide on the website. The goal of this assignment will be to give you ideas for what you might want to do and what you might not want to do were you to develop a website for your own behavioral healthcare organization.

Instructions

Download the Online Scavenger Hunt Template that has been provided for in the assignment page. You will be engaging in an online search for four behavioral healthcare organizations: one that represents a telehealth organization, one that represents a community based behavioral healthcare organization, one that represents a residential treatment center, and one extra website that can be any type of behavioral healthcare organization which interests you personally. You are looking for the actual primary website of the organization and not a secondary source that is talking about or evaluating another organization. It should be the direct website of the behavioral healthcare organization.

Complete the Online Scavenger Hunt Template. It is a table which you can type directly into if the document is opened in Word.

In the first column, identify the name of the organization and share the exact URL that takes you to the home page of the organization.

In the second column, identify an strengths that you observe based on the information that is presented by the company and how that information is presented. Consider if the website is user friendly and if you can easily identify what services are provided and how to contact someone.

Similarly, in the third column, identify any weaknesses that you observe based on the information that is presented by the company and how that information is presented.

Your responses in the Strengths column and the Weaknesses column should be 50 to 75 words for each organization. You can list information in either bullet point format or paragraph format; however, do attend to standard academic writing conventions as it relates to grammar and mechanics. APA format is not required for this assignment.
