Florida International University 5th Edition Task List

Undergraduate Behavior Analysis Verified Course Sequence As of fall 2021, the courses listed below have Verified Course Sequence (VCS) status in both online and face-to-face modalities. Courses taken in the two modalities may be combined. The VCS meets the course content requirements of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board © (BACB) 5th Edition Task List. VCS courses are open to all students, regardless of major or degree-seeking status. Students intending to become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts are urged to read the BCaBA 2022 Eligibility Requirements, available here: https://www.bacb.com/bcaba/#BCaBAEligibilityRequirements Psychology majors should enroll in the Applied Behavior Analysis track. EAB 3002 Introduction to the Experimental Analysis of Behavior (3 credits) Prerequisites: PSY 2012

Note: May not be taken concurrently with any other VCS course. Does not meet the 5th Edition Task List standards if taken prior to spring 2021.

EAB 3794 Principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (3 credits) Prerequisite: EAB 3002

Note: Formerly EAB 4794, Principles and Theories of Behavior Modification. Does not meet the 5th Edition Task List standards if taken prior to summer 2021.

EAB 4764 Applied Behavior Analysis: Assessment and Intervention (3 credits) Prerequisite: EAB 3002, Pre or Co-requisite EAB 3794

Note: Does not meet the 5th Edition Task List standards if taken prior to summer 2021. Formerly EAB 3764. EAB 3764 does not meet the 5th Edition Task List standards.

EAB 4798 Single Case Research Methods (3 credits) Prerequisite: EAB 3002

Note: May be taken concurrently with EAB 4795. Does not meet the 5th Edition Task List standards if taken prior to fall 2021.

EAB 4795 Senior Seminar in Applied Behavior Analysis (3 credits) Prerequisite: PSY 3213 or PSY 3215, AND EAB 4764

Note: Formerly PSY 4931 (behavior analysis section only). PSY 4931 does not meet the 5th Edition Task List standards. May be taken concurrently with EAB 4798. PSY 3213 and/or PSY 3215 may be waived, at the discretion of the instructor, for non‐psychology majors and non‐degree-seeking students. Prerequisites may not be waived for psychology majors.

No Course Substitutions Are Allowed. Courses taken under the 4th Edition Task List do not meet the 5th Edition Task List standards and may have to be repeated in order to take the BCaBA certification exam. RECOMMENDED SCHEDULES: All courses are usually offered every fall, spring and summer semester on campus and online. The coursework should be completed over four semesters. Students complete the VCS in less time should follow one of the schedule options below. Taking more than two VCS courses concurrently is highly discouraged.
