Please consider the following prompt and craft a response that sufficiently captures all aspects of it from your unique point of view and original research. Please cite and reference any source(s) you use to help write this response in APA format . Notice that in addition to your Main Entry post, you will need to offer two substantive classmate response posts to complete this exercise. See below instructions that will guide your peer engagement thinking/posting. See syllabus or course calendar for due dates for both Main Entry posts and peer engagement.
Main Entry (Parts 1 - 3):
Part 1: Post a brief analysis of what you learned from this unit’s Learning Resources. Include at least 1 takeaway from a reading and 1 takeaway from a video, considering and discussing both through your unique point of view. Remember to cite the source of your information and reference it at the end of your post as well.
Part 2: Identify a recent video clip, or article from a major news outlet, newspaper, or social media post (e.g., Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram) that addresses gender and violence.
Discuss your selection-- summarize and analyze the contents. Be sure to identify the source and other important details for context (e.g., title, author, publication, etc.). Were comments available? If so, what are some of the themes that you noticed? Does the video clip, news story or article perpetuate gender-based violence and/or promote awareness or solutions? Support your observations and point of view with APA Style in-text citations for Unit 7 readings and credible sources.
Part 3: Our second (and last!) assignment is due in Unit 8 – your Applied Final Assignment. Hopefully, you’ve started working on it in earnest. (If you haven’t started, that’s okay – just use this part of the assignment as an excuse to do so!) Use Part 3 as an opportunity to share your progress with your peers, ask any questions you may have, solicit feedback or ideas on a topic, or otherwise find your heading on this project.
Peer Engagement
Remember to circle back and substantively respond to two classmates by the due date specified in the syllabus and course calendar. Your peer engagement posts must go beyond summarizing and praising. To aid you in this endeavor, incorporate one or more of the following lines of thinking in your peer engagement posts, ensuring both a hearty, meaningful conversation and that your work meets criteria for substance and depth:
· Consider the takeaway your peer described in their Part 1 and offer your thoughts on why that concept is important and ground that takeaway in your own observations.
· Compare/contrast the news article or social media post you chose with that of your peer. Offer some insights based on that compare/contrast and how you (or the field of psychology!) might use this information moving forward.
· Share some encouragement with your peer regarding the status of their Unit 8 Applied Final Assignment, but don’t stop there. Offer some helpful feedback to them; locate and share a resource they may find helpful in their work, attempt an answer at the question they posed, or otherwise contribute substantive help as they find their heading on the project.
