Project Three asks you to remediate, or “rewrite,” the position you composed in the form of an essay for Project Two by selecting an electronic medium for your argument, researching the medium to convey your argument, and rewriting the argument in the new medium for a specific audience.
For example, you might decide to convey your argument in the form of a series of tweets, a Facebook page, a blog, or a basic website. You will then reflect on your remediation, as well as the process you followed to create it, in a reflective essay.
The reflective essay should consist of 850-900 words, and it should reflect on the process you followed, as well as the rhetorical and aesthetic choices you made, while rewriting your argument from Project Two. For example, if you opposed embryonic stem cell research in your position paper for Project Two, you might consider writing about how a series of tweets, blog posts, or Facebook posts convey your argument. You would then write an 800-word critical reflection in which you reflect on your purpose, stance, audience, and choice of genre/media. Drawing on research (at least three peer-reviewed sources from the library) will enable you to connect the features of your chosen media to your purpose, stance, and audience.
You will also present your remediation to the class. This presentation should be persuasive. Convince the class that you have carefully thought through your remediation, and that you have consciously made choices to persuade a specific audience.
Feedback on the intermediate draft of Project Three will be provided to students who submit their paper on time for the instructor’s review.
