Intro to Project Management

As you learn the fundamental steps in creating a project plan throughout this course, you will use what you learn to create a basic project schedule using a scenario from real life, or within your workplace that contains at least 20 activities. The course project is due at the end of the semester. Although you have not yet been introduced to all of the elements that will be included in your project, it is important to understand now what is required so that you can be thinking about the project and incorporating elements of your project as you are exposed to the tools and techniques throughout the course modules.

The course project deliverables will include the following:

Project Charter - Including rationale for project selection (As someone more versed in project management you can pick a well known personal example or an example you know would work well for this exercise.)

I was thinking building a closet, small garden whatever you think.

High-level stakeholder analysis

Scope Statement

Work Breakdown Structure

Network Diagram and Gantt Chart

Two page written summary and description of your project. (Only need one page)

The network Diagram and Gantt Chart will be created using a free Project 

Management Software package called ProjectLibre. (www.projectlibre.com). (You should know and have project libre)
