This week, you are required to produce your project Procurement Strategy deliverable. Your Procurement Strategy will define how procurements will be planned, executed, and managed throughout the life of the project. The Procurement Strategy is prepared during the planning process phase of your project. The proposed audience is the project manager, project team, project sponsor, procurement manager, and/or contract manager, and any senior leaders whose support is needed to carry out acquisition plans. Please use the Procurement Strategy Tool provided to help you produce your project deliverable due this week.

Introduction to the Procurement Strategy Tool
This tool will help you define your project procurement strategy. In this scenario, you would use this tool to define how procurements will be planned, executed, and managed throughout the life of the project. The Procurement Strategy deliverable outlines the actions necessary to execute the acquisition strategy.
The Procurement Strategy is prepared during the Planning Process Phase of your project. The proposed audience is the project manager, project team, project sponsor, procurement manager and /or Contract Manager, and any senior leaders whose support is needed to carry out acquisition plans.
The following tool serves as a sample and guide to producing your Procurement Strategy deliverable along with instructions and descriptions to guide you in understanding how to complete it.

Delivery Method and Performance-Period Requirements

Explain and provide reasons for any urgency if it constitutes justification for not providing for full and open competition. Feel free to make any assumptions you feel necessary. You expected to use the Project Charter for the project presented to you as input, section 7: Procurement Assumption. For the “Delivery Method,” you are expected to use PMBOK 6th Edition Section 12.1.3.2: Procurement Strategy / Delivery Method, and feel free to make the necessary assumptions as you feel necessary. It is expected you would select the “Professional Services, delivery Methods”, option that is presented in the PMBOK 6th Edition, as it is aligned to this project.]

[Describe the type of contract the project will use for your project. Feel free to make any assumption as you feel necessary and provide a narrative to explain the rationale for your selection. Example:
All products and services for this project will be solicited under firm-fixed-price contracts. The project team will define the items, types, quantities, services, and required delivery dates. Once approved by the Project Sponsor, the request for proposal (RFP) will solicit bids from vendors to procure the required items, within the required time frame, and at the best value to the state under the firm-fixed-price contract with the selected vendor.
