Open primary, closed primary, crossover voting, caucusing. What is the best way to nominate candidates. But then, what is best? An open primary leaves the choice open to the registered voters as a whole. A closed primary says, "members of our party will decide who our party's nominees will be, and if you want to stay outside, you can stay outside and watch."
