Respond to the following in a minimum of 185 words: 

A series of if/else/else-if statements is used for a program to make decisions. But sometimes, the series of statements must be written in a certain order to work and make correct decisions as intended.

Please provide a code example of such a situation and explain why the order of the if/else/else-if statements matter.
