Oral Presentation: Prepare to present a 6-to-8 minute power point presentation on the relief, aid, and/or nonprofit organization of your choice. You will be speaking from the perspective of an enthusiastic fundraiser for the organization, and seeking to “sell” your classmates on why they would want to give or volunteer. If you visit your organization, before your presentation and share what you learned from the experience, you will gain extra credit for the course. (For example, Pacific Garden Mission gives tours of their facility at 3:00 on Saturdays at 1458 S. Canal St. in Chicago every week, including dinner).

Check with the instructor to make sure your organization qualifies as addressing a Social Problem. Examples of organizations currently addressing social issues are PADS, Pacific Garden Mission, International Justice Mission, Celebrate Recovery, Alcoholics Anonymous, The Salvation Army, Restored Hope Network, Compassion International, Safe Families for Children, XXX Church etc.
