Project Management Terms and Concepts
Overview of Selected Project
The selected article for this document is by Zolotukhin et al. (2020), which addresses an
architect's procedures in handling a house's development. The authors discussed a suitable
proposal for building individual and economical residential buildings in the article, specifically
in suburban and rural areas. A productive method of handling the project was implemented when
it addressed the building of the houses using materials, structural drawings, and reusing materials
so that there would be reliable low-rise buildings constructed in the proposed areas. The article
discussed how building structures would be created using recycled items from areas that had
been demolished. Handling a construction process using items from demolished buildings proved
itself to be a feasible construction process (Zolotukhin et al., 2020). Different images of floor
plans and actual construction processes were included in the article to strengthen understanding
of the project’s performance.
Qualification as a Project
The selected article qualifies as a project because it details different efforts implemented
in developing buildings using materials from other demolished buildings. The article is a project
because it proposes using recycled materials to construct buildings and then initially explains
theoretical concepts about low-rise residential buildings. An explanation of the significance of
the construction process was performed in the article, which explained how a particular floor
plan, the cost of engineering equipment, the heat loss of proposed buildings, and the wall volume
were all required to facilitate the planning of the proposed project. There was discussion of the
partitioning process of the building whereby the proposed floor plan would include a garage,
study, bedroom, parlor, kitchen, living room, cold annex, sauna, workshop, boiler room, entrance

hall, sitting room, bathroom unit, and corridor (Zolotukhin et al., 2020). All the details shared
illustrate how the building construction would be performed appropriately.
Project Objectives
The project's primary objective was to design and construct residential buildings that
would align with the need to develop residential buildings. Aligning with local regulations,
building requirements, and the client's vision are other objectives guiding the project's direction.
Another objective is to explain the processes for constructing a house that would economically
benefit two families. Improvement of the project’s performance was another objective by
facilitating the implementation of the low-rise buildings using low-cost materials. Achieving the
objectives would be possible using the project's direction of demolishing houses constructed in
the 1960s-70s. Handling all the objectives was possible by appropriately managing construction
plans and generating adequate resource access.
Project Manager’s Role
For the construction of low-rise buildings, the project manager’s role initially is to liaise
with the Ministry of Regional Development of Russia to present the proposal in a way that
supports construction. The project manager will ensure that different project components are
adequately implemented in a way that communicates an architect's vision using pictures of the
floor plans. Using the proposed drawings, the project manager is responsible for ensuring all
directions by the architects and contractors get implemented in a way that facilitates adherence to
initial project directives. Implementation of careful planning, budget development, resource
allocation, and communication of project operations are all project manager duties. Developing a
well-explained direction is imperative for the project manager whose experience and direction
are needed to ensure communication of all expected tasks get performed suitably.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT TERMS AND CONCEPTS 4
More roles of the project manager include coordinating team members' roles so that they
appropriately implement expected activities. The team members include designers, architects,
contractors, and engineers who have unique professional experience that is needed to ensure
better performance of the construction process. It would then be possible to ensure the project
gets operated on within an initially defined scope and any unforeseeable outcomes can be
managed using risk management. The project manager can further handle daily performance
once the project gets implemented by identifying potential challenges for the entire project using
feedback mechanisms (Balmer et al., 2020). Using researched information, it would be possible
to devise strategies for mitigating any risk that would reduce proper project momentum. Further,
the project sponsor can liaise with the project sponsor to address the decision-making procedures
needed to develop the entire project feasibly.
Project Sponsor’s Role
The role of a project sponsor is to represent the client and then communicate all their
expected actions. Addressing the entire project will be performed suitably after addressing
different resources for the proposed buildings and ensuring all materials requisition activities get
handled in the expected way. The sponsor can offer support throughout a project's lifecycle in its
planning stage, development, and all actions up to completion. It is then possible to establish
project priorities to facilitate organizational development, design assessment, and change work
procedures depending on the client’s initial expectations.
Project Scope
The scope of the low-rise residential building construction involves the demolishing of
old buildings, using materials from demolished buildings as recycled items for proposed
construction, working with the government ministry for better performance, and purchasing

resources to adhere to the total amount for the project, being 143,322.8 euros. Implementation of
the project would be performed reliably when all project operations are implemented in a
constructive manner that is developed to ascertain all activities and then connect them to existing
resources.
Project Team Member’s Role
It is imperative for all project team members, who are engineers, designers, contractors,
and architects, to be in charge of the whole design. Developing a collaborative team would be a
feasible process that ensures all team members understand their roles in a way that adheres to
expected project performance (Abramov & AlZaidi, 2023). An imperative method is to address
the project's scope while creating a design process that ascertains operational efficiencies
suitably. A residential building's full development requires structural integrity that cohesively
addresses functional elements, aesthetic quality of the building, and communicating unique
operational efficiencies for the project.
Project Risk/Uncertainty
The project has inherent risks regarding adherence to local building regulations, budget
and timeline changes, and assigning roles to different persons. Addressing uncertainties is crucial
for ensuring all work operations are performed feasibly. TrainingThe use and development
procedures are a productive method of ensuring any forms of performance get handled in a way
that addresses the proposed project of building low-rise buildings.
Project Outcomes
The project's outcome shall be the successful use of recycled materials from old
buildings, facilitating the proper development of new structures without wasting money on new
materials. Use of the proposed floor plan shall also ensure that the persons involved in the

project manage construction activities in a way that signifies project success. All the architectural
plans and construction projects would be performed in a feasible method that envisions different
activities for securing the project's scope.
Lesson Learned
A review of the project, as explained in the article, reveals that the proposed building
would be constructed properly to address all expectations of the floor plan. Using detailed
guidelines for any project is feasible for feasibly implementing construction activities,
communicating, and addressing unique challenges that might progress while the project gets
implemented.
