Post Modernism

To fulfill the requirements of this assignment, please answer the question below.  You will need to read one primary text for this assignment: Fredric Jameson’s “Postmodernism and Consumer Society.”  This source is available in the “Module” for Week 13 on EC Learn page.  Please include direct quotations (phrases, words, or full sentences) in your answer and please reference page numbers.

Each of you has the ability to do well on this assignment.  The challenge here is to integrate ideas from each text into your answer seamlessly.  You do not have much space to work with in this assignment.  Every word in every sentence counts.  (Remember one important thing: quotations from your primary texts count towards the five-sentence limit.)  Take your time with this assignment.  Give yourself about ten (10) total hours to complete it.

You will need to create an accurate MLA (8th edition) citation for Fredric Jameson’s “Postmodernism and Consumer Society.”  This citation will be worth five (5) of the total twenty (20) available points.

Does Fredric Jameson like “postmodernism”?  Why?  Why not?  Your answer must indicate that you have read more than the abstract of this essay. (This question asks you to find evidence that indicates Jameson’s valuation of postmodernism. You will have to find specific textual evidence to prove your conclusion.  You can of course suggest that he is ambivalent about the implications of postmodernism, but you need to understand why that ambivalence is important.)
