For this paper you will be using Bertrand Russell’s “Education as a Political Institution”.

The “point of interest passage” you will be using appears on page 752:

• “Hardly anything is done      to foster the inward growth of the mind and spirit; in fact, those who      have had most education are often atrophied in their mental and spiritual      life, devoid of impulse, and possessing only certain mechanical aptitudes      which take the place of living thought”

Proposed thesis: Not much has changed in the realm of education since 1916 when Bertrand Russell penned “Education as a Political Institution”. Even today, fewer graduates are majoring in English, history, foreign language, and liberal arts.
