 Examine the efficacy of U.S. welfare programs. What do such programs intend to accomplish? What are some criticisms against them? Be sure to cite specific academic examples, not just ones from your opinion.

1. TANF: Temporary Assistance to Needy Families.

5. Supplemental Security Program

6. Housing Assistance (aka Section 8) 

In your response, talk about the effectiveness of one of the above programs. Be sure to cite a source. Interestingly, Worstall (2016) argues that for all of the criticism that America's welfare programs come under, they overall do a good job of alleviating poverty at a low cost. You can choose one specific program to analyze, and see if you come out agreeing with Worstall.
