Policy Analysis, Recommendation & Rebuttal DUE DEC. 7

Social workers are often on the receiving end of policy analysis. It is vital to your success in this class to have a deeper and more nuanced understanding of how policy is developed and to this end you will spend the bulk of your assignment time developing a succinct but thoughtful policy analysis. You will develop a 7-10 page Policy Statement for presentation at the National Association of Social Workers Delegate Assembly. This policy statement will describe a current problem that the social work profession should address through its policy advocacy. This policy statement will consist of five sections: Problem Overview, Historical Analysis, Social, Economic & Political Analysis, Policy Recommendations, and a Rebuttal for Opponents

The topic should be regarding a social issue (LGBT rights, slavery in Libya, poverty). Any current policy issue.
