1. Police stress arises from several features of police work. Although numerous, name three (3) causes of stressors on the job AND explain how they can impact/ effect the officer while at work and/or after shift.

You are a police sergeant (supervisor) who is noticing a recent behavioral change in one of your officers who works the evening shift. Officer Smith, an 18-year veteran, has started to display a pattern of short temperament, aggression, shift tardiness and late submitted reports. As his immediate supervisor, what are the steps that should be taken?
