Police Misconduct/Kalkines

My topic is if Garrity/Kalkines is in direct contradiction to Miranda. Thesis is: Do Police Officers give up their 4th Amendment rights when compelled to give statements? My paper is to show how Garrity/Kalkines, when given to officer during internal investigations, affects their ability to make a decision to give statements during investigations and if the statements they give affect their Constitutional rights.
