Pitch Idea
One-sentence pitches are called elevator pitches because they usually are communicated on the way to an elevator to an executive. The assignment is to write an elevator pitch. The following are criteria that an elevator pitch needs to have to be successful. The elevator pitch should never be longer than 3 sentences and is best told within one sentence. Note this is not a run-on sentence but a short, complete sentence.
An elevator pitch does the following:
- Is a complete story idea with a beginning, middle, and end.
- Has a sense of irony.
- Clearly identifies the genre of the film in its telling.
- Reflects the size scope and budget of the film.
