Philosophy CLASS
In Plato's Phaedo Socrates is executed by being given poison hemlock to drink. Was this a common form of execution during this time? Or, was this chosen for Socrates because of some other reason? Was it an easier death maybe? Or could it have been a way to belittle him by making him poison himself?
