II From p. 45-52, answer the following questions to complete this task:

1. Aristotle offers three characterizations of what "substance" means. What are these three characterizations?

2. For Aristotle, substance is a combination of form and matter. What does this mean? Explain using an example.

3. What is a "teleological explanation"?

4. What does Aristotle mean by "the main engine"? Why do you think the main engine should exist?

Do you find Plato or Aristotle's view of reality more plausible? Why?
