Persuasive Essay

For your final writing assignment, we are going to make use of all three persuasive techniques discussed in the class:  Logic, Emotion and Identity.

Here’s the scenario.  The House of the Rising Sun, a new solar power company, is looking for a place to build its National Headquarters.  Write an essay in which you propose your town (whatever town you want that to be) as the ideal location.

Your essay should follow the outline below:

Introduction –

Using Identity, persuade the company to trust you and prove that their identity fits with your town.

Thesis and Logical Proof -

Give us some logical reasons that this company should relocate to your town.  Make sure that you actually prove it, don’t just say it’s true. 

Conclusion –

Write an emotional conclusion to seal the deal.  Be sure and decide in advance what emotion you want the reader to feel and write accordingly.
