Choose one of the Civil Rights movements, i.e. African Americans, Hispanics, women, gays, etc. Pick 3 events, people, court cases, or legislation from the movement you have chosen and explain the significance of those events, people, court cases, or legislative acts and how they contributed to the movement. You can use 3 events, 3 people, 3 legislative acts or 3 court cases or a mixture, as long as the total is 3. You should write at least 7 sentences. Some examples might be:

Events:  African Americans: March on Washington, 1963; Freedom Rides, Montgomery Bus Boycott,

Hispanics: Chicano movement, Delano grapestrike

Women: Miss America Pageant , 1968; women's rights movement, establishment of NOW

Gays: Stonewall Riots

Court cases: African American: Brown vs. Board of Education, Sweatt vs. Painter, Smith vs. Allright

Hispanics: Hernandez vs. Texas, Delgado vs. Bastrop

Women: Roe vs. Wade

Women: Equal Pay Act of 1963, Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Hispanics and other minorities too)

This is not an exhaustive list, by any means. Pick one group and list 3 items. You may use items other than the ones listed here, but you must explain how they contributed to the civil rights of the group you have chosen. Good luck!
