Perfecting the Memo
Perfecting the Memo
In July 2014, Microsoft laid off 10% of their employees--and communicated this news by memo. Read the full memo from Stephen Elop, Executive Vice President of Microsoft's Devices & Services business unit, and share your thoughts on the memo and how you would "perfect" it. According to your textbook, "when you perfect a business document, you add information for clarity, delete wordiness for conciseness, simplify complex words, or move information. You can also reformat for ease of access, and enhance the style and tone through positive words and pronouns."
You do not need to rewrite the entire memo, but be specific about what you would keep or change and explain why? Need to write at least one page?
