Peer Reviewed Written Short Story Examples Short Story Example #1 (actual student examples): Recently I had to go to urgent care due to the fact that I had a large lump in the peri/an/al area, a lot of pain in my coccyg/eal area and a large hemat/o/ma. My mom is a nurse had given me a pro/gno/sis of having an abscess on the poster/ior side of my body. When I was taken in the urgent care the nurses first had to take my vitals using my left arm in a dist/al position measuring my blood pressure. She then placed an or/al thermometer in my sub/lingu/al area. She then proceeded to call the doctor in. The doctor then took a look at my buttocks area. He then had given me a dia/gno/sis that a pilonidal cyst was an abscess. The doctor then had to make two small in/cis/ions to release the pressure and to remove the pus. The doctor told me that they were going to leave the incision open so it can continue to drain. Short Story Example #2 (actual student examples): I’ve always had issues with my stomach and intestines. In the past I have been diagnosed with hypo/glycem/ia. While I was pregnant with my son, in my first trimester I vomited so much to the point that I got an esophag/eal tear. I began to vomit blood and stomach acid. While in the emergency room I underwent an or/al exam and was told that I suffered a later/al tear in my esophagus. I received no treatment for this because I was told that it would heal on its own. During this time I also experienced so much nause/a to the point that my abdomino/l walls felt weak. As if to make maters worse I was diagnosed with dia/rrhea as well. As time went on throughout my pregnancy, di/gest/ion became easier and I was able to keep my food down. When I gave birth I got received and epidur/al because I could not feel my lower body strength. I developed hem/o/rrhoids from pushing so hard. After childbirth I suffered from constipation which was a side effect of the Norco painkillers that I was prescribed. I took Dulcolax stool softeners and after nine days with no bowel movement, my digestive system was back up and running accordingly. **Note** You can see that the examples have errors in them.
