Participate in the Discussion: Bernie Madoff - Power, Influence and Ethical Behavior
We've explored several topics this week related to power, influence and ethical behavior. Watch the clip below about Bernie Madoff [2:21]. Madoff was the mastermind behind a $50 Billion fraudulent investment operation, called a Ponzi scheme. Madoff was convicted and is serving a life sentence in prison.
After watching the movie, think about the phrase: "If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything." What does this phrase mean to you? If you were an employee in Madoff's company and you learned about Madoff's scheme, what action would you take? Why?
Post your timely, thoughtful response to the discussion question supported by references to this week’s material and course terminology by Wednesday. Post an on-topic thoughtful response to a classmate by Friday. Answer all questions posed to you by Sunday. Cite your references.
