Participant Observation Field Note Journal
attend or participate in one U.S. cultural activity or event. What did you experience and observe there about American culture? What did you learn from the experience? Your field notes should include some description of the event or activity - who was there, what you and they were doing, the location and physical surroundings, your purpose in being there, and the Americans' purpose for the activity, etc. - but it should also include your observations about the event - feelings, insights, questions that came up in your mind, possible interpretations of people's actions, etc.
To do a thorough job with this assignment, each entry should probably be about 350-500 words long.
