Paraphrasing
paraphrase the following text
I do not believe it is a fair trade because yes, education can be beneficial for some of these athletes, but if these athletes sustain a career-ending injury in college and can no longer afford the education, then that's a problem. In addition, the amount of revenue that these schools make off these athletes are nothing compared to what athletes actually receive in scholarships and other compensations.
With the new NCAA decision allowing athletes to profit off their name and likeness, I think this is a step in the right direction. I do support this decision because if other college students are allowed to work while getting an education and scholarships, I don't see the problem with student-athletes doing something similar to make extra money with their potential professional career.
The next step in this is continuing to figure out the future of student-athletes being able to profit off their name and what rules and regulations will follow. They need to make sure the system is fair and no athlete shall be excluded from being able to the same thing as their peers. It's going to be interesting how this develops in the next few years, and how this changes the makeup of the NCAA.
As a public relations officer, I would support my student-athletes because I believe they deserve what they've worked hard for since they were young. In addition, I would try to change the public perception of this new change and what the benefits are for the athletes. Also, I would keep transparency where I can with the athletes, coaches and the public.
